Gay Pride in the Plaza 2007 Part 2

The Mission Plaza and Creek side stage area was bustling with activity. It was a bit noisy with the music. So Andy, Josh and I decided to find a quieter place to meet people. We were just commenting on how hot it was in the direct sunlight when a young man named Daniel approached. One of the three of us gave him and his pal a tract and asked if we could interview them – Daniel agreed. My buddy Andy (the guy on the right in the picture)is the one sharing with Daniel (the guy on the left of the picture). Please pray for Daniel.
Here are a few more individuals to pray for:
John has head-knowledge of the gospel. He has a grip on the doctrines of Christianity. However, John said he didn’t think it was necessary to repent regularly from sin. He indicated that he was a worship leader for 10 years at a Four Square church. Josh and Andy very gently walked John through the Ten Commandments. Somehow the topic of drunkenness was brought up. Andy shared with John what the Bible says and John didn’t like it one bit. He accused us of judging people. We didn’t talk about his homosexuality but he was definitely waiting to pounce on us. We did our best to lovingly but firmly help John understand that one can claim be a child of God – but one also can prove they are not by their lifestyle, among other things (doctrine 1 & 2 John).
While we were talking with John, a young chap named Miguel walked up. Miguel was one of John’s friends. Miguel wanted to let us know that he too had a male partner and wanted to know if he was going to Hell because of it. Miguel was painfully blunt in the language he chose to use. He didn’t, ‘beat around the bush.’ The more you talk with these people the more you are saddened how sin has such a tight hold on them (like us before conversion). Bottom line, Miguel is not willing to turn from his sin – even if it means Hell for all of eternity. He claimed that he didn’t believe there was a God.
Tammy and Nicole were two young ladies we met almost immediately upon entering the festival area. I think they were volunteer staff for the event and wanted to see what we were passing out. While Andy was talking with another couple that you’ll hear in Gay Pride in the Plaza 2007 Part 4, I was talking with Tammy and Nicole. Nicole was the talkative one. She was educated. She held to the old stance, “there is no God.” She seemed to enjoy debating. I did my best indulging her intellect. Andy finished the interview and turned around and got into the conversation. Several times during our discussion, we pressed them to God’s moral standard – the Ten Commandments. Not sure who was the target, but both Tammy and Nicole listened to us talk about sin, righteousness and judgment. Our conversation ended abruptly and Andy, Josh and I prayed that God would have mercy on them and open their hearts to receive the truth. Please pray for these individuals.
